Are All Caskets The Same Size?

At Simply Cremations & Funeral Services, we frequently receive inquiries about whether all caskets are the same size. The fact is that you can get caskets in various sizes. If you want a casket for a deceased loved one, a standard-sized one would generally do. However, if the deceased is much bigger, a huge casket will be required. There is no need for an elaborate casket if there is to be a cremation. A simple one would work, as there will be no burial.

The Dimensions Of A Standard Casket

Typically, these caskets are 84 inches in length, 28 inches in width, and 23 inches in height. Metal and Wooden caskets, for the most part, have identical proportions. Standard-sized caskets fit inside standard-sized burial sites “(which are typically 30 inches in width). The internal dimensions of the casket will vary considerably based on the requirement. Metal caskets are typically 78/79" long and 23/24" wide on the inside.

Caskets of standard size are suitable for the majority of people and may frequently fit a person weighing up about 350 pounds and 6'5" tall However, we suggest that you check with the funeral director, since they are knowledgeable and can guide you on the most appropriate casket for your requirements.

A Bigger Casket

If you want a casket for a much bigger individual or greater room within the casket, an oversized casket is an option. While the length is similar to standard-size products, the inner space is significantly larger. The outer width of smaller large caskets may be as small as 27 inches "with a narrower inner width. Additionally, you may choose from massive caskets that measure 28"/29"/33"/ 40"/44". All these sizes will have an interior that is 1" smaller than the exterior.
