Although some people choose cremation over burial, many are unfamiliar with the process. 4 Types Of Cremation: Understanding The Differences It is important to note that there are 4 types of cremation, which we will discuss below: Cremation with a Traditional Service - During this cremation, the deceased's body is placed into a casket, and a funeral service is arranged where family and friends can pay their final respects. Following this, the body is cremated, and the ashes are then handed over to the next of kin. Cremation with a Memorial Service – Here, the body is cremated, and a memorial service is held where the urn carrying the ashes is displayed. There is no casket or viewing involved in this type of cremation. Cremation without a Ceremony (Direct Cremation) - This option does not involve embalming the body, and the family does not arrange
